Tapping Anywhere : A Position - free Wearable Input Device
" Tapping Anywhere " is a new input device that can control wearables mounted on any position of a human body by tapping actions with foot or hand. A body-mounted sensor detects changes in the body's static charge or static capacity caused by the tapping action. This method can be used not only for controlling wearables with rhythmic commands, but also for monitoring activities in everyday life.
متن کاملPull’n Retract: Experimenting with a String-based Wearable Input Device
In this paper we describe a novel wearable interaction device that is based on the principle of a badge reel often found in corporate environments. Our prototype device is composed of hardware components from an ordinary off-the-shelf game pad. Preliminary results of a user study show that the device allows for a more accurate and intuitive interaction than an ordinary game pad when performing ...
متن کاملImproving the Usability of a Wearable Input Device SCURRY
In this paper, a finger-click recognition method is proposed to improve the recognition performance for finger-clicking of a wearable input device, called SCURRYTM. The proposed method is composed of three parts including feature extraction part, valid click discrimination part, and cross-talk avoidance part. Two types of MEMS inertial sensors are embedded into the wearable input device to meas...
متن کامل3DTouch: Towards a Wearable 3D Input Device for 3D Applications
Three-dimensional (3D) applications have come to every corner of life. We present 3DTouch, a novel 3D wearable input device worn on the fingertip for interacting with 3D applications. 3DTouch is self-contained, and designed to universally work on various 3D platforms. The device employs touch input for the benefits of passive haptic feedback, and movement stability. Moreover, with touch interac...
متن کاملWearable Magnetic Field Sensors for Flexible Electronics
Highly flexible bismuth Hall sensors on polymeric foils are fabricated, and the key optimization steps that are required to boost their sensitivity to the bulk value are identified. The sensor can be bent around the wrist or positioned on the finger to realize an interactive pointing device for wearable electronics. Furthermore, this technology is of great interest for the rapidly developing ma...
